Elective Class: CopyCat Dogs

This 4-week class is based on Do As I Do, a scientifically backed method developed by ethologist Claudia Fugazza that taps into dogs’ natural ability to learn through imitation. Therapy dog teams can use this fun skill in so many ways while volunteering—from helping students understand how their actions influence others to engaging people at healthcare facilities and De-stress with Pets events. It’s also great mental enrichment for your dog! Open to future therapy dogs, current therapy dogs, and pet dogs. Dogs must be at least six months old. Required medical records for class participation include proof of the following vaccines: Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP. Payment does not enroll you in the class. You must confirm your enrollment with a HABIC trainer by emailing HABICTraining@colostate.edu. HABIC class fees are nonrefundable. Makeup sessions are not available for missed classes. Participation in HABIC classes does not guarantee certification.
